Gravity was my first solo exhibition in London, presented at EB&Flow Gallery in 2011 and curated by Attilia Fattori Franchini. The exhibition brought together works concerned with the forces that organise individual elements into larger structures.

Gravity provided both a physical condition and a metaphor. Bricks, modular forms, colour and repeated units were used to explore how apparently autonomous elements become dependent upon one another through proximity, weight and accumulation. The individual exists within a system: able to move and change position, yet always affected by what surrounds it.

Across the exhibition, construction and instability coexist. Structures can be assembled, dispersed and rebuilt; order remains temporary. From the relationship between one element and another, larger formations emerge: object, architecture, city and collective.
