Twins by Zuzunaga was launched in Madrid in 2018 at Camper’s store on Calle Serrano, one of the brand’s most emblematic locations in the city.
The presentation brought the collaboration into a spatial context, extending the visual language of the shoes across the store. Developed as part of Camper’s ongoing TWINS Artists project, the collaboration reinterpreted the Runner through two related but distinct compositions, using colour and pattern to explore difference within a shared system.
The project originated from photography and moved through bitmap, letterpress and digital translation before reaching the surface of the shoe. In Madrid, this process returned to architecture and space: the product becoming part of a larger visual environment rather than an isolated object.
The presentation also marked the launch of Autobiografía anticipada de Cristian Zuzunaga, a book by Ángels Manzano and Ramón Úbeda tracing my trajectory and centred on a question that has accompanied my practice: artist or designer? The book concludes by inviting ten figures from different fields to respond to that question. Published as a limited edition of 300 copies, each copy was signed by me.
