Founded in 2010, Zuzunaga developed as a way for my artistic practice to enter everyday life. Ideas around colour, repetition and the pixel moved across textiles, objects, clothing and interiors, between analogue and digital processes, industrial production and hand making.
As founder and art director, I worked with a small team and an international network of craftspeople, manufacturers and creative collaborators. Particular attention was given to materials, provenance and production, with specialist manufacturing centred in Europe.
The work was distributed internationally through institutions and retailers including Tate Modern, Le Bon Marché, Barneys New York and Isetan, and widely published in Wallpaper* and Monocle.
I came to understand the brand itself as an extension of the work: a system through which ideas could be made, distributed, used and lived with. In 2024, I chose to close Zuzunaga and return my focus fully to my artistic practice.
