TWINS Artists is an ongoing Camper project inviting artists and designers to reinterpret the brand’s concept of opposite yet complementary shoes.

For this collaboration, I reimagined Camper’s Runner through photography, print and colour. The pattern originated from a bitmap derived from one of my photographs, which was then printed using a 1950s letterpress press. The image moved from analogue photography to digital information, into physical print, and finally back onto the surface of the shoe.

Two related but distinct compositions were developed, with blue predominating on one foot and orange and red on the other. Rather than forming an identical pair, colour and pattern shift between the two shoes – different, but belonging to the same system.

The collaboration brings together photography, the pixel, colour, analogue printing and digital translation through the complementary logic of Camper TWINS.
