Phoenix developed from The Making of the Cube, a series of letterpress prints exploring how a single geometric unit can generate larger structures through repetition, colour and variation.

Created on an exterior wall in Hackney in collaboration with Mad Atelier and graffiti artist Popay Ayguavives, the print was translated into architecture at an urban scale. Green, red and yellow-orange elements are held together by black, forming a structure that recalls a façade in which every window is different while remaining part of the whole.

The mural extends an idea recurring throughout the work: a pixel to an image, a brick to a building, an individual to a community. Difference exists within a shared structure.
