The collaboration began with Ligne Roset Westend in London in 2009, where Shanghai textile was used across a series of furniture presented during the London Design Festival.
In 2010, the textile was applied to Michel Ducaroy’s Togo as a special edition for Ligne Roset’s 150th anniversary and presented at Design Miami.
Across both projects, the rectilinear structure of Shanghai is transformed through upholstery. The grid bends, folds and disappears into the furniture, creating a dialogue between the geometry of the textile and the sculptural forms beneath it.
