In 2014, the Royal College of Art marked fifty years since its first exhibition of graphic design with Graphics RCA: Fifty Years, tracing the development of the discipline from 1963 through successive generations of RCA graduates.

Works from different stages of my practice were selected for the exhibition: Quadrat, developed with Peter Maxwell Smith as my final RCA collection in 2007; a Steel armchair, designed by Enrico Franzolini for Moroso and reupholstered with a bespoke digitally printed textile; and Deep Grid, developed with Brintons in 2014.

Seen together, the works traced a movement from graphic design through photography, digital image and print into textile, furniture and space. Across these different forms, the grid, colour and repetition remain recurring structures through which image becomes material, object and environment.
